Joe Jonas - Fastlife

Joe Jonas' new album, Fastlife, was released today, and it's a surprisingly mature, danceable album.  Much of his new sounds come from dance and R&B, even working with Chris Brown, and Hit Producers like Danja (Britney Spears, Black Eyed Peas, Madonna) and Rob Knox (Justin Timberlake, Chris Brown), creating a new hit album!

The album is a cohesive and well rounded work!

Tracklist, Review and Like under the cut!

01. “All This Time”
02. “Just In Love”
03. “See No More”
04. “Love Slayer”
05. “Fast Life”
06. “Make You Mine”
07. “Sorry”
08. “Kleptomaniac”
09. “Not Right Now”
10. “Take It and Run”
11. “Lighthouse”
12. "Just in Love" ft. Lil Wayne

The album overall has a more mature sound, aiming to fill the void of the absent Justin Timberlake, but landing more at an edgier, more Pop, Chris Brown.  The tracks filled with *Beeps* and *Boops* definitely have an electronic edge, even incorporating rock and dubstep.
“See No More”, the first single, has a somber feel, reflecting most of the album.  Its a highlight, but definitely not the shining song.  “Just in Love” has a commercial appeal, thumbing synths and drums, and mature, real lyrics.  It has the potential to become a real hit.
But the dark horse hit from the album, and Nick Jonas’ favorite song as one can see on twitter,“ @nickjonas: @joejonas Make You Mine is my favorite song on #Fastlife” is “Make You Mine”.  Even though it begins a bit muddy, it morphs into a full on club jam!  The beat makes you want to move, and the melody is addictive.  The opener, “All This Time”, has a really nice swing to it, kicking off the album well, becoming quite catchy, with pounding drums.
Some of the missteps on “Fastlife” are the title track and “Lighthouse”.  “Fastlife” has what could be considered the most interesting instrumental on the whole album, but it really misses when it comes to the chorus, having a forgettable melody.  “Lighthouse”, written by Chris Brown, has great lyrics, but the beat feels as if it needs to be sped up.  If it were sped up I’m sure it could be a full on dance song, but unfortunately it falls flat as a ballad.  “Take it and Run” and “Not Right Now” are both forgettable, and muddled tracks.
“Sorry”, a song supposedly about Taylor Swift, is an undeniably catchy ballad, feeling like a lost gem of the Backstreet Boys or ‘Nsync. My personal favorite is “Kleptomaniac”, a thumping dance track with a major dubstep edge. This song has a unique perspective, being a standout!
Overall the album has a somber feel, but it keeps the pop sensibility that made the Jonas Brothers big in the beginning.  If you’re a fan of Chris Brown, Justin Timberlake, or Jason Derulo, this is definitely an album you should check out!
I recommend : “Kleptomaniac”, “Just in Love ft. Lil Wayne”, “Make You Mine”, “All This TIme”, and “Sorry”
