Opening Ceremony a "multifaceted retail environment comprised of shops, showroom, and private label collection that establishes a new, international creative forum in downtown Manhattan" was cofounded by Humberto Leon and Carol Lim in 2002. Since then it has trend spotted impeccably. Below is a recap/ summary of their next ten year trend forecast.
Fashion designers are to perfect the classic silhouette. This will include the blue peacoat, the black cardigan, and the grey flannel pleated pant.
New investment pieces will become key. This includes leather trunks nicer than your grandfathers once was, hand-tailored suits, custom-lined ecologically sourced furs. Think Hermes. Think Quality.
Hand written notes, and small present will become loved once again. Wax seals, calligraphy. Old school will be new school.
Eating smart, eating locally, organic.
The return of real art. They use the examples of modern but time consumed artists Aurel Schmidt (from kamloops BC), and John Currin.
Asia taking over the fashion world...a bit... As well as integral design countries making a comeback. This includes Belgium, France, and Austria.
MUSIC. Operas, harp. Less electronic. More Owen Pallet (From Toronto Ont) or Hahn-Bin.
